The Total Horsemanship Approach To Riding |
The Progressive Riding Program is designed to create good safety conscious horsemen. Every client will be treated as a future horse owner and as such will be given theory and stable management that will be essential to their success as a confident self-sufficient horse owner, as well as a rider. Safety and quality are the highest priority and to that aim PRP has a commitment to owning the best possible school horses and top quality new and used equipment.
The Progressive Riding Program facility is a beautifully appointed 70-acre farm with breathtaking views in Catharpin, Virginia near the Manassas Battlefield in Prince William County, minutes from routes 66, 29, and 15. There is a bluestone outside ring, a lovely grass ring, and a nearly new indoor ring. PRP is strictly an educational program and does not offer boarding; however, there is field boarding available through the facility owner. Students who own horses are welcome and special discounts are available to clients who take lessons on their own horses. PRP has discounts for families with more than one rider taking lessons, and for riders who want to ride more than one time a week. Payment plans are available on either a pay as you go approach or by selecting various block plans. CLICK HERE for payment plan details.
Every student gets a course syllabus of what will be covered during the 10- or 20-week semester and make ups are available during the semester. Why Choose The Progressive Riding Program? PRP is totally committed to a high quality high value program. Progressive Riding Program is not the least expensive lesson facility in the area, but is truly the best value for The Total Horsemanship Approach to Riding! The Progressive Riding Program is different because every student will be assumed to be a future horse owner. This means there is a lot of information that every student is going to have to know if that possibility is going to come true. The student will not just learn to ride, but to completely care for a horse. At the end of the lesson plan the student will know full horse management! Unlike other lesson programs that just keep accepting students' money, PRP sets teaching goals for every semester. The instructor will work from a lesson plan that has built in horse care and horsemanship as well as riding theory and horse show rules. The riders in this program are going to have goals to strive for and achieve. People with adequate skills are offered opportunities to be included in:
Director of Riding As a breeder, Ms. De Michele has produced both race and show horses. In 1989, the National Steeplechase Association licensed her to train horses. Currently she judges local shows and hunter trails and has two horses showing on the “A” circuit of United States Equitation Federation.
Riding is a Lifetime Sport Many riders enjoy this sport well into their eighties. The focus may change as a person gets older, but the enjoyment stays the same. Older riders may go back to riding smaller horses but they can still enjoy riding cross-country or going to small horse shows. The pure joy of being on a horse doesn’t have to end it does with so many other sports like football, soccer, or baseball. Riding is available in many forms and levels. Foxhunting, polo, endurance riding, eventing, horse showing, pony trekking, and any number of Western events are available to those who care to participate. Horses were once considered the sport of kings, now they are accessible to many and just make you feel like a king! So if you want to truly learn not only horsemanship, but the full care of such a magnificent animal, call The Progressive Riding Program today and join a program to achieve this lifetime sport!
